Health Courses

This section will provide a glimpse into my coursework while in Clemson. Though only a few courses will be listed there will be descriptions of the courses, expectations from each course, and the benefits to my education from the course. 

Also Included will be two examples of work that is related to health and aims to provide a demonstration of aptitude in healthcare.

Below are descriptions of four of the health classes that I have completed or will complete while at Clemson. 

HLTH 2020

Name: Introduction to Public Health 

Examination of the forces that have influenced current health delivery systems, health practices, and trends. Introduction of population and public health theories and models. General systems theory is introduced

HLTH 2980

Name: Human Health and Disease

An overview of behavioral, biological and psycho-social factors associated with major human diseases and conditions, with an emphasis on best health practices.

HLTH 4700

Name: Global Health

Deepens students' knowledge of global health and how public health work is conducted internationally. Introduction to assessment of international health needs and designing, implementing, managing, and evaluating public health programs in international settings

HLTH 3800

Name: Epidemiology

​Introduces epidemiological principles and methods used in the study of the origin, distribution, and control of disease. 

Examples of my Work

Here are a couple of examples of work I have completed and submitted in my Health Courses. 

Literature Review

For HLTH 2400, I completed an in-depth literature review to better understand caffeine consumption in college students using the Health Belief Model and the Theory of Planned Behavior while also analyzing the social determinants of health connected to caffeine consumption in college students. 

HLTH 3100 Special Topic Report

In HLTH 3100, a course surrounding women's health, the class was given an assignment to present on a special topic of their interest. I chose to present on the different existing and new Male Birth Control options and related it to women's health.
